Washington DC & Ocean City, Maryland

Over spring break, I headed to Washington DC.
I absolutely love the history of DC and full on geeked out at the monuments!
I chowed down on loads of food, and was able to try some new cocktails!
I can't wait to go back, see the loads of other stuff I missed!

I probably looked ridiculous holding up my five dollar bill at the Lincoln Memorial, but I kinda of love the resulting picture. After I whipped out my money and started taking pictures, other people did, too! The one day I was a trendsetter.
And I hope that I didn't look as crazy as the as the people with selfie sticks, THAT TREND NEEDS TO END ASAP. I saw far too many of them.

I devoured a cupcake from Baked & Wired.

A very unique pistachio cake with golden beet ice cream and beet puree at The Shark on the Harbor in Ocean City, Maryland. A great farm to table restaurant, the burger was delicious!

Wild horse at Assateague National Park. The horses roam freely throughout the park. We saw about 17 of the 97 horses that live there! Looking for the horses was like a real life I spy trying to find them amongst the marsh, forest and beach. We found most of the horses at an area marked "Horse Campground", hilarious, right?

In the past I've never been too keen on horses, but seeing these magnificent creatures roaming free, I found myself having a new appreciation for them. They were absolutely beautiful, I mean look at those manes!

Red Wine Chocolate Loaf Cake

This post is long overdue.
Embarrassingly late.
I intended to post this for Valentine's day, but as has been happening all too often lately, I never got around to posting it.
