No Churn Cherry Chocolate Chip Ice Cream

(I like to think of capital letters as enthusiasm not shouting, but maybe that's just me!)
I can't believe it! It feels like I just started this lil' blog, but I guess not!
While posts have been fewer and farther between, I haven't forgotten about you or the blog! I've just been a bit busy. I hope to get back to normal soon, but we'll just have to see if life cooperates or not.
In the meantime, here's to three years of blogging!
I love ice cream so I thought I would celebrate with some!
Hope you enjoy!

Earl Grey Baked Doughnuts

I was going try to be clever when naming these by combing tea with donut/doughnut, but all I came up with was tonuts and teanuts. I don't about you but both of those sound terribly unappetizing, so I am sticking with 'Earl Grey Baked Doughnuts'.

Happy national doughnut day!

Gettin' Back To It

I haven't really been in the kitchen until recently so I don't have any recipes to post just yet.
In lieu of a food post, I thought I would do a photo recap because so much has happened since I last posted.
Finals kind of took over my life and I fell off the blogging wagon, so here's to gettin' back to it!

Mini Carrot Cake with Essence of Orange Frosting

I've made mini cakes before, but this one is by far my favorite!
The batter fit the pans perfectly, no spill over or extra mini muffins. Just two little 5-inch cakes topped with a zesty buttercream.

Washington DC & Ocean City, Maryland

Over spring break, I headed to Washington DC.
I absolutely love the history of DC and full on geeked out at the monuments!
I chowed down on loads of food, and was able to try some new cocktails!
I can't wait to go back, see the loads of other stuff I missed!

I probably looked ridiculous holding up my five dollar bill at the Lincoln Memorial, but I kinda of love the resulting picture. After I whipped out my money and started taking pictures, other people did, too! The one day I was a trendsetter.
And I hope that I didn't look as crazy as the as the people with selfie sticks, THAT TREND NEEDS TO END ASAP. I saw far too many of them.

I devoured a cupcake from Baked & Wired.

A very unique pistachio cake with golden beet ice cream and beet puree at The Shark on the Harbor in Ocean City, Maryland. A great farm to table restaurant, the burger was delicious!

Wild horse at Assateague National Park. The horses roam freely throughout the park. We saw about 17 of the 97 horses that live there! Looking for the horses was like a real life I spy trying to find them amongst the marsh, forest and beach. We found most of the horses at an area marked "Horse Campground", hilarious, right?

In the past I've never been too keen on horses, but seeing these magnificent creatures roaming free, I found myself having a new appreciation for them. They were absolutely beautiful, I mean look at those manes!

Red Wine Chocolate Loaf Cake

This post is long overdue.
Embarrassingly late.
I intended to post this for Valentine's day, but as has been happening all too often lately, I never got around to posting it.

Blackberry & Clementine Sangria

And I'm back after a bit of a technology detox. It's oddly refreshing when you don't post on social media for a week. Now I didn't go cold turkey, I still liked and commented on stuff, but no posting on my part. I didn't realize how much I pressured myself to post, or get the so called perfect picture.

Feeling Stuck...

Here's the deal, I'm feeling a little burned out with blogging. So, here's what is going on...

Winter Sangria Crumble

Sangria is most often thought of as a summer drink, but let go of that notion.
Sangria can be winterized.

It's 2015…WHAT?!

It's officially 2015 (WHAT?!) and it has been way too long since my last post. I want to say I am sorry for the delay, but I read on some 'blog how to' that you're not supposed to apologize for long absences, but I feel bad not apologizing! So, I am truly sorry for not posting sooner!
As usual there have been some bumps in the road that have delayed this post. I intended for this to be a recipe post, but the recipe has not been cooperating. I plan on continuing to work on the recipe, but if it keeps misbehaving I might just have to let it go a la Elsa.
In the meantime here are a few photos from my life lately, okay mostly my dogs' lives.
